About Our Ear Clinic

Neeti Ear Clinic is a dedicated unit within the hospital for diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to ear infections, problems with hearing in children as well as elderly and tumours of the ear.

At Neeti Clinics, 6000 minor and 400 major procedures are successfully conducted each year.

We have in house facilities for following diagnostic tests:

  1. Ear Microscopy and Oto-endoscopy: A micro/endoscopic examination of your ear canal, ear drum and middle ear bones allows to understand the cause of infectious process affecting these areas precisely and helps to draw up a management plan either through medications or by way of surgery.
  2. Pure Tone Audiometry: It records the hearing threshold levels in individual ears separately and denotes whether it is a conduction or sensory (nerve related) hearing impairment.
  3. Impedance Audiometry: In patients with conductive hearing problems, this test accurately identifies the function of the small middle ear bones that conduct sound from the ear drum upto the auditory nerve.
  4. BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry): This is a test generally done for young children to detect hearing impairment. It is of special use in children who have not been able to develop speech and hearing since birth as it accurately maps the functioning of neural networks from the ear to the brain and indicates the site of problem.
  5. OAE (Oto-acoustic Emissions): This is an extremely safe, quick screening test performed in newborns/ infants to detect hearing impairment at an early stage. It is particularly recommended for high-risk babies such as pre-terms, low birth weight, twins, family history of hearing difficulty or those with any other congenital health conditions.

Specialty Services:

  1. Hearing Aid Fittings: We understand the special needs of the elderly population. Therefore, we try our best to ensure minimum waiting times and a smooth process both in evaluating hearing impairment in elderly patients and if indicated a timely customized hearing aid fitting trial. Our audiologists counsel the patients with tender care and motivate them for drawing the benefit of user-friendly machines.
  2. Cochlear Implant Clinic: Hearing disability in a child can adversely impact their future. We have the longest running Cochlear Implant Programme in the region. Under the mentorship of Dr Kirtane, we have done more than 50 CI surgeries and enabled them to hear for the first time in their lives. Our hospital is empaneled for government funding towards the cause. In addition, for patients who for some reason miss out on the government scheme, we have contributed to development of the Neeti Cochlear Implant Association, a trust organization dedicated to treatment of hearing-impaired children.
  3. Ear Piercing: We love to share the excitement of welcoming a baby in your family. For the Indian tradition of piercing a child’s ear, we provide a hygienic, safe and absolutely pain-free technique.
