About Our Voice Clinic

Neeti Voice Clinic is a dedicated unit within the hospital for diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to voice box (larynx).

At Neeti Clinics,6000 minor and 400 major procedures are successfully conducted each year.

We have in house facilities for following diagnostic tests:

  1. Rigid Laryngoscopy: Examination of the throat with an endoscope to diagnose polyps/ cysts/ nodules/ ulcers in the larynx or pharynx and/or problems with functionality of the vocal cords.
  2. Flexible Naso-pharyngo-laryngoscopy: Examination of throat by passing a smooth fibre-optic cable via nose. This allows diagnosis of polyps/ cysts/ nodules/ ulcers in the oropharynx, larynx or hypopharynx and/or problems with functionality of the vocal cords.
  3. Stroboscopy: Evaluation of vibratory patterns of the vocal cords to accurately diagnose the cause for voice change.

We have a dedicated team with experienced and highly trained surgeons specializing in this field to look after our patients.

Following is a list of commonly performed surgeries at the hospital:
  1. Micro-laryngeal Surgery: Surgical treatment of vocal cord pathologies often LASER assisted to provide precision in surgery and best voice outcomes.
  2. Laryngeal Framework Surgeries: To improve quality of voice by utilizing external approach

Specialty Services:

  1. Injection Laryngoplasty: In patients with weakness of one vocal cord, injection of bio-safe chemical into the cords can significantly improve voice outcomes. This can even be done without anaesthesia and gives immediate relief to the patient.
  2. Botox Injections: Patients diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia which literally means a spastic quality in their voice can benefit with a simple injection into their vocal cords. This is again a technique we specialize in and can be done with/ without anaesthesia depending on patient choice.
  3. Airway Surgeries: Patients with narrowing of the trachea (upper airway) can have life threatening difficulty in breathing. This can be treated occasionally by LASER surgery but sometimes may require open surgery as well. This is an extremely risky surgery. So we have developed a team of expert anaesthesiologists who specialize in management of difficult airway and with their assistance, the surgical team performs these skillful surgeries with due precautions to ensure safe and best results for the patients.
  4. Juvenile recurrent laryngeal papillomas : JRLP occur in small children and can cause life threatening airway obstruction. We perform CO2 LASER excision of papillomas. This is a recurring condition so usually requires multiple procedures
